I use a wide range of components for my jewelry but sterling silver plated Zamak is clearly predominant within my jewelry product offering.
Zamak is an alloy of four metals: zinc, aluminum, magnesium and sometimes copper, which are dipped in silver creating a 5 to 8 microns of sterling silver coating, resulting into a hard and very resistant material with the ability to be chromated to grant different finishes ( silver, gold, bronze, cooper...).
Zamak is hypoallergenic and allows finishing with precise and special details, which makes it ideal for the manufacture of jewelry findings.
Its combination with leathers, resins or cords is spectacular, therefore becoming the absolute star during my jewelry making process, both in the women's and men's collections.
Jewelry products made with Zamak have a high social acceptance because they are very durable, more economical and last but not least... Zamak is recyclable...becoming the key factor during my main components & findings decision making process.
Other materials I used:
Ceramics, resines, minerals, beads...
